I NEED ALL OF THESE

If anyone knows where I might find any (or all) of these amazing guitars, get at me. I would like to rock out with each and every single one.

GOING TO BE SO GOOD.

LIKE SUNDANCE IN THE SPRING

I saw Sunshine Cleaning and Duplicity today. It's spring break and I need to do something with my time.

It was nice to be able to just walk around without freezing to death.

What's that? Get a job? Surely you jest. Then I wouldn't have time for late night internetting, watching Cosby Show re-runs and generally slacking off.

REALLY?

I'm glad winter is almost over so I don't have to actually see any of these.

I want this sharkbird to be real so bad.

THURSDAY.

Today was the first day in a long time that I've been awake and out of the house by 9 AM. I had to get down to Gateway to catch a 10 AM screening of Adventureland.

Pretty good. I missed it at Sundance and heard good things, so I'm glad I was able to drag myself out of bed.

Oh the life I lead.

ONE MORE FOR GOOD MEASURE

I couldn't pass this up. Nick Lott from Iris did the piercings, but I think we all know what the real story is here.

SICK INK BRO!

The decisions that some people make with their tattoos baffle me sometimes. I mean, I do have Star Wars, Batman and Guns N Roses tattoos, but those kick ass.

These? Not so much.

What?

Speechless.

Nothing says Straight Edge like the Counting Crows

Decent band, but come on...

NO LIFE!

I'm out of the (1) job for a couple of months and I tend to get bored quite easily. Luckily, I have a habit of buying DVD's whenever they're on sale. So I have a stack of movies that I've bought over the past year or so that I've never watched (since owning them). I've made it another goal of mine to watch them all over the course of the next few months.

This is what I've got-

After I finish North By Northwest (which is great, by the way) I'll probably finally give Slumdog Millionaire a shot. I'm sure it's great, and I've had a copy since early December, but I've refused to watch it for the sole purpose of avoiding the hype (and fucking with Casey, who deems it the greatest movie of all time).

-I got a screener copy of Slumdog and The Wrestler like three months ago and only watched the latter—which was fucking wonderful.

My real goal, however, was to get xUNTIL MY HEART STOPSx all caught up sometime soon. I've tried to update at least 2-3 times a week, and since last Sunday (when I made the goal) I've updated it three times (which is more than '07 and '08 combined) and added pictures and flyers to all the old stuff. If you haven't looked at it in a while, go there now and read back through.

I went through all my flyers, Myspace comments, journals and records and tried to make a definitive list of out-of-state shows I've played—with Cherem, Cool Your Jets or Tamerlane. I've still got about 72 (!) shows left to write about. It might take a while, but rest assured I'll get there. I doubt anyone will read or care about all hundred plus entries, but at least they'll be there.

Now, on to Hitchcockian greatness.

NEW POST UP ON xUNTIL MY HEART STOPSx

"We drove sluggishly through the night, with Brook doing the lions share of the work behind the wheel. I rode shotgun most of the way, but couldn’t stay awake the entire time—which is the one thing you’re supposed to do while riding shotgun on tour. Sorry about that Brook..."

Head over and check out the rest.

1:11 AM.

I got tricked.

I was watching LOST—damn fine show, but I can't help but feel it took them a couple episodes too long to get the band back together, so to speak—and when that ended I started looking for something else on TV. I hit the guide button and scrolled through the channels and I saw that The Da Vinci Code was starting in 45 minutes. I'd only seen it one time, and was kind of bored by it, but I figured I'd give it another shot.

I killed time by going through a bunch of old photos and flyers to try and get back up to speed on the tour diary I started way back in 2004. I'm about halfway through the 2005 entries, but still a long, long way away from finishing. Hopefully I'll keep up the pace I'm at now. I'm trying to get through one entry a day (at least) if not more. I did go back through and add pictures and flyers to all the old entries to make them a little bit more enticing. After doing stuff for GCA for so long, I've got the blogger thing down pretty good. It was much harder to add pictures and video when I first started it a long time ago. But now that I have a scanner, constant internet access and only 1 job, I figured I had no choice but to finally get on it. So head over and check it out. I think there's probably only 6 people that read this site, and probably only 3 will head over, but you should. I tell good stories.

And now back to my original story.

After I did that for a bit, I looked at the clock and remembered that The Da Vinci Code started 15 minutes ago. I turned off the internet, grabbed the remote and settled in to watch it. I changed the channel, and the first thing that popped onscreen was three broads with no clothes on jogging around some yard, while a guy with a sweet goatee made witty comments laced with sexual innuendo.
I didn't remember that scene from the first time I watched it, so I hit the Info button. The movie that was on was The Da Vinci Coed, softcore porn that couldn't be all that old, but looked like it was straight out of the late 90's.

I'm not going to lie, I watched for a few minutes. But I got bored with that pretty quick too, so if they were trying to channel the real movie, I guess they did a pretty good job.

And now, because why not?
